The residential tower "OKO" in the business center of Moscow has been awarded the FIABCI Prix d'excellence in the category "Best implemented development project on the Russian real estate market in 2016." The FIABCI Prix d'excellence, is one of the most prestigious international competitions forcompleted developments, the equivalent to the "Oscar" in the film genre.
OKO, is the second high-rise project in "Moscow-city" developed by American architectural Bureau SOM (Skidmore, Owings and Merrill). The skyscraper, built by general contractor, Turkey's AntYapi, is a complex of about 400 thousand square meters, which was begun in 2011. It's 49-storey office tower with an area of 115 thousand square meters, was put into operation in late 2014.The second phase of the project, consisting of 85-storey tower with apartments and a 6-storey infrastructure "crystal", was introduced in late 2015.
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) is one of the largest and most influential architecture, interior design, engineering, and urban planning firms in the world. The firm has 10,000 projects spread across 50-plus countries, and is noted for iconic buildings like the "OKO" tower. The striking building is the brainstorm of Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin, whose OKO Group is now undertaking to build Miami's most iconic center city skyscraper, the Missoni Baia.
