The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy is hosting numerous interesting exhibitions and events, including one that will appeal to fashionistas, fashion designers and lovers of Russian history. This exhibition, the largest retrospective of the models of women's and men's clothing and accessories, clearly demonstrate the changes that took place in Russian fashion from 1915 to 2015.
Two world wars, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and many other prior and later events have influenced people's clothing styles and led to different fashion trends. Fashion, seen as a mirror of history, shows and tells how fashion in Russia changed from 1915 to present times. 100 specially manufactured dolls will be on display to reflect these changes. You will see a variety of patterns and clothing that both men and women were during the past 100 years.
Clothing of pre-revolutionary years with its simplistic cut and style emansipe, short dresses with low waist - the calling card of the NEP, dresses in the style of Soviet film stars of 30s, the postwar dresses and masterpieces of ODMO on Kuznetsky Most, form-fitting dresses with a petticoat in the spirit of the new look of 50s and business fashion of 80s, luxury of dashing 90s and glamour of 00s- all ages and all styles found their place in this exhibition, mentions an official press communique.
The breadth and diversity of the collection of Alexander Vasilyev is outstanding. Vasilyev a singer, songwriter, and frontman of the Russian rock group "Splean". He comes from St. Petersburg, and he is one of the most interesting figures of contemporary Russia.
The exhibition takes place at VDNH, in the pavilion #64, from November 6, 2015, till February 7, 2016, daily except Mondays, from 11:00 to 22:00. You have enough time to visit it.
