Lada has just announced the start of production of the all new Lada XRAY beginning December 15th. Company President, Bo Andersson also unveiled last week the new fleet of 200 test cars.

The new Lada vehicle, developed by noted Mercedes/Volvo designer Steve Mattin, will begin production on the B0 line in Togliatti. This announcement moves up the January deadline for mass production to being.

The XRAY is a high ground clearance hatchback along the lines of a hybrid SUV. It is actually the second production model variant of the Lada Vesta, a new brand "X" style, according to the company. In cooperation with Renault-Nissan, the platform BO of test vehicle creation leading to full scale production is well thought out. Sales of the new vehicles is slated to begin in February of 2016, a release that is being cast as a "change of image" for the Russian auto industry.
